McGlaflin Labs is an independent software studio. We build and operate our own consumer products — designing them, running them in production, and improving them continuously against what real users actually do.
The studio was founded in 2026 and operates as McGlaflin Labs, LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company. We are a product company, not an agency: we don't take outside client work, and everything we release is something we own, run, and support ourselves. Our focus is consumer applications — software that ordinary people choose to use, judged by whether they keep using it.
How we work
- Improve relentlessly What people do with a product sets the next round of work, not an internal roadmap. A release is the start of a product's life, not the end of the work on it.
- One team, whole stack The same people design the interface, write the services behind it, and run the infrastructure in production. Nothing important gets handed across an org chart.
- Vendor-agnostic by construction Third-party providers sit behind interfaces we define, so any one of them can be swapped without a rewrite. A consumer product shouldn't be architecturally hostage to someone else's pricing page.
- Privacy as a default We collect what a feature genuinely requires, we don't sell personal information, and we name the processors that touch your data instead of hiding them behind boilerplate.
What we're building now
The studio's current product is Bearings. It's the first thing we've released, not the boundary of what the studio does — new products get started as we find problems worth solving.
