Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: the email address you sign up with.
- Location data: your device's location while using the app, to determine what to narrate and to record the route of trips you save.
- Content you create: journal entries, trip details, interests, and any photos you add to a journal entry.
- Purchase information: subscription/purchase status and receipts from the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your card details — those are handled entirely by Apple/Google.
- Usage & device data: app diagnostics and crash reports, used to keep the Service working reliably.
2. How We Use It
To generate narration and answer questions relevant to where you are, save and display your journal entries, manage your subscription entitlement, respond to support requests, and diagnose and fix problems with the Service.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
Generating and voicing narration, and operating the Service generally, requires sending limited data (such as your approximate location or the text of a narration request) to third-party processors on our behalf, including:
- AI providers (e.g. Anthropic) to generate narration and answer questions.
- Text-to-speech providers (e.g. Google Cloud) to voice narration aloud.
- Mapping, routing, weather, and reference-data providers (e.g. Wikipedia) to determine your route and inform narration content.
- Error-monitoring tooling (e.g. Sentry) to catch and fix crashes.
- Apple and Google, to process subscription purchases.
These providers process data only as needed to perform their function for us — we don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for third parties' own marketing purposes.
4. Shared Journal Links
If you generate a shareable link for a journal entry, the content of that entry (including any photos and the route map) becomes viewable by anyone with the link, until you revoke or delete it.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual journal entries at any time in the app, and can request full account deletion by contacting us below.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. International Users
Your information may be processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Your Choices
You can disable location access at any time in your device settings (narration won't function without it), manage notification permissions, and delete your account as described above.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date above.
